The Redskins were expected to use pregame warmups to assess whether or not wide receiver Pierre Garçon was able to play against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Garçon is active, but two players on the inactive list wound up there in part because of a collision during pregame warmups. According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Robinson bent over to pick up a ball and Meriweather’s left knee struck him in the head as he was getting back up. Meriweather limped to the locker room and Robinson was helped back there by the Redskins training staff.

Sunday was going to be Meriweather’s 2012 debut after he missed the first three games with a right knee injury. Robinson has seven catches for 104 yards and a touchdown so far this season. Running back Ryan Grant, cornerback Cedric Griffin, quarterback Rex Grossman, linebacker Markus White and guard Adam Gettis are also inactive.

Cornerback Myron Lewis, cornerback Anthony Gaitor, RB Michael Smith, defensive back Keith Tandy, LB N. Goode, tackle Jeremy Trueblood and wide receiver Chris Owusu are inactive for the Buccaneers.

UPDATE: 4:40 p.m. ET: FOX showed video (which Deadspin has) of the collision early in the first quarter of the game. Jones’ description isn’t quite right as it doesn’t appear Meriweather’s knee struck Robinson in the head, but the end result is both players on the ground and in pain.
