Matt Forte ready to play

After missing just one game with an ankle injury suffered in Week Two against the Packers, Bears running back Matt Forte is ready to play against the Cowboys tonight.

The only thing that could keep Forte out at this point is a “freak accident,” according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

Although a freak accident befell two Redskins players before Sunday’s game in Tampa Bay, freak accidents in the hours before a game are rare enough that Bears fans can probably count on seeing Forte on the field tonight.

It’s possible that the Bears will take it easy on Forte and give more carries than usual to backup running back Michael Bush, but it sounds like Forte is back to full speed, just 11 days after injuring his ankle. Forte has 23 carries for 111 yards and seven catches for 89 yards in two games this season.
