Unbeaten Cardinals OK with not being the prettiest or most popular

The Cardinals know no one expects them to be 4-0 right now.

They’re also sure they don’t care.

The NFL’s most unexpected undefeated team is well aware of the perceptions, but they’re successful in part by being comfortable in their own skin.

We’re not the prettiest girl at the dance,” guard Daryn Colledge told Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

“We’re like a ‘four’ or a ‘five.’ But we dance like an ‘eight.’”

That’s an eye-of-the-beholder distinction, because the wins keep piling up.

Their overtime win over the Dolphins was their eight straight at home, which includes five in overtime, and two others decided by a combined six points.

“There’s never a doubt when we get to overtime,” center Lyle Sendlein said. “It’s a weird feeling.”

It was also their 11th win in their last 13 games overall, and the 500th win in franchise history (against a mere 699 losses and 39 ties).

While it might not make tangible sense when you look at the way they’re built, and the way the Dolphins manhandled them throughout the day, it keeps working, so they keep dancing.
