Lance Moore already ruled out for Saints

If the Saints are going to get their first win of the season Sunday night against the  Chargers, they’re going to have to do it without one of their main receiving threats.

Wide receiver Lance Moore has already been ruled out with a hamstring strain, according to Katherine Terrell of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Moore’s tied for second on the team in receiving yards, and takes away a downfield component they could use.

Defensive end Turk McBride (ankle), linebacker David Hawthorne (hamstring) and running back Travaris Cadet (shoulder) have also been ruled out.

Safety Roman Harper (hip), linebacker Jonathan Casillas (neck) and wide receiver Joseph Morgan (knee) are all listed as questionable after being limited in practice Friday.

Saints coach Aaron Kromer responded to the growing list of injured players by going without pads in practice for the second week in a row.

  1. Why all these injuries? Is someone looking into the helmets and other equipment to make sure that there is thorough testing?

Football is meant to be played “hard hitting”. Down on the field (away from the cameras) these guys were getting bloodied up and shredded.

The old timers like Randy White knows what I am talking about.

Brutal like boxing. Sure you don’t want to put anyone in a coma but your job is to hit your guy. And if he gets shaken up and can’t come back in the game, then the rest of the game you’re lined up on someone ideally not as talented.

Check their equipment. And make sure they are wearing what they’re supposed (and not that they are keeping it off because it doesn’t look cool!). Make sure the equipment isn’t passing inspection because of some cheesey side deal.

  2. I bet all those teams that interviewed Aaron Kromer for their head coaching job are going WHEW! Dodged that bullet.m
