On the same day that Saints quarterback Drew Brees could set the record for consecutive games with a touchdown pass at 48, Giants quarterback Eli Manning has extended his streak of consecutive games with 200 yards or more passing to 24.

It’s the second longest streak of 200-or-more-yard games in NFL history, a number that seems nearly as amazing as the fact that it took a quarterback so long to match the 52-year-old John Unitas record of 47 straight games with a touchdown reception. With all the changes to the rules aimed at promoting passing offense, 200 yards passing for any elite quarterback should be a given.

The record, according to the production crew at Football Night in America, is 45 straight games, set by Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts.
