Antrel Rolle never imagined his knee would still be sore three weeks after slamming into a cameraman in Charlotte.

But the Giants safety said Tuesday on WFAN (via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News) that the knee is a “lingering” issue.

Now you know why Giants coach Tom Coughlin was upset, and wondered why photographers were so close.

Rolle hasn’t missed any time, but said the knee is still sore, “definitely better” but still not 100 percent heading into this week’s game against the 49ers.

“It’s a battle,” Rolle said. “It’s a constant battle each and every day. . . . With this knee injury, it’s going to take some time. I never thought it would be this crucial. It’s just a lintering process. Nothing too serious. But something that lingers around a little bit.”

Rolle said he’d be “fine” Sunday, but he’s not the only ailing member of the Giants secondary.

Safety Kenny Phillips isn’t expected back, and corners Jayron Hosley (hamstring), Michael Coe (hamstring) and Corey Webster (hand/hamstring) will be on the injury report as well.
