The problem with a team losing so many close games is that, eventually, those close games won’t be close anymore.

It hasn’t happened yet for the Browns, who have narrowed the gap with the Bengals to one point in the third quarter.

In the second half, a long punt return from Josh Cribbs resulted a Phil Dawson field goal, cutting the score to 14-10. Then, an interception of Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton by Browns cornerback Joe Haden became another three-pointer, moving the score to 14-13.

Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden has settled down after an early interception, and if the Browns can hang around long enough perhaps they can end their franchise-record-tying 11-game losing streak.
