Needing help at safety, the Jaguars signed veteran Chris Harris Monday.
Harris was out of the league after playing 11 games last year between stints in Chicago and Detroit. He’s also had a productive stint with the Panthers, forcing 12 fumbles in three seasons (with 10 of those in an 18-game span from 2007 to the start of the 2008 season).
The 30-year-old is still good in run support, even if he doesn’t have the range he used to.
The Jags needed help with Dwight Lowery out for a few weeks wiht an ankle injury.
To make room for Harris on the roster, the Jags released cornerback Kevin Rutland.
