The Chargers are off this week, but their P.R. staff is working.

In response to the report from FOX’s Jay Glazer that the league is investigating the Chargers for using a banned substance known loosely as “stickum” during the Monday night loss to the Broncos, the Chargers have issued a statement.

Wisely, the team has not asked the NFL to take a “Chill Pill.”

“We are aware of the inquiry and are cooperating fully with the League,” the team said.

Cooperation is critical, as the Saints have learned the hard way. A bad situation only gets worse is there’s any lying or covering up involved.
