Rejected (so far) for inclusion in a pretrial diversion program, Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley will appeal a sentence imposed last month by a judge in Alabama.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Judge Sarah Stewart will consider on November 8 a challenge to a six-month suspended jail term, one year of probation, and a $600 fine. Judge George Hardesty imposed the sanctions on Fairley as a result of a May 27 arrest for DUI, and other charges.
A diversion program, if successfully completed, would result in the charges being removed from Fairley’s record. He would still be subject to potential discipline from the NFL.
