Ahmad Bradshaw misses another day of practice

When Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw missed practice on Wednesday, word out of Giants camp was that it wasn’t a reflection on his chances of playing this week.

Coach Tom Coughlin said that he expected Bradshaw to practice on Thursday, which suggested the team was doing what they could to manage the foot problems that have plagued Bradshaw for most of his career. Bradshaw wasn’t able to get on the field Thursday, however, and that’s a development that Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger calls “a bit concerning.”

That concern may not result in Bradshaw missing Sunday’s game, but it certainly raises the risk that the Giants are going to go without their starting tailback. If that happens, both sides will likely be reliant on backup running backs because of foot injuries. DeMarco Murray hasn’t been officially ruled out of the game yet, but word out of Dallas is that he won’t be well enough to play in the big NFC East matchup.

Andre Brown and David Wilson are behind Bradshaw on the Giants depth chart. Each of them has had strong moments in the early part of the season and the Giants may need more in order to improve their record to 6-2 on the year.

UPDATE 3:00 p.m. ET: Bob Glauber of Newsday passes along word from Bradshaw that it was his choice not to practice on Thursday because he felt there would be less of a risk of setback by waiting until Friday.
