Packers confident Raji will play, but Nelson a game-time decision

The Packers are going to be without several players who missed last week’s win against the Rams, but defensive tackle B.J. Raji appears set to make his return to the lineup.

Raji is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars after skipping the last two games with an ankle injury. Raji sat out practice on Friday after being able to work the rest of the week, but listening to coach Mike McCarthy makes it seem like that was a choice made in the interest of maintenance as opposed to any kind of setback with the injury.

“If nothing changes in the next 48 hours, I feel very confident in B.J. playing,” McCarthy said, via Paul Imig of

There’s less confidence about Jordy Nelson. Imig reports that the wide receiver will have to show he’s capable of playing during pregame warmups on Sunday, which is a slight difference from what the Packers said on Thursday. There was to be a test of Nelson’s readiness on Saturday in that scenario, although it is unclear if the decision time has been pushed back because of any change in Nelson’s condition since the last update.

Fullback John Kuhn, cornerback Sam Shields, linebacker Nick Perry and wide receiver Greg Jennings have all been ruled out. Shields, Perry and Jennings also missed last week’s game and Jennings will be out a while longer thanks to his decision to have surgery to repair an abdominal tear.

  1. Time for JM Finley to make a case for not being traded or just dropped. I look for Williams, Broykin, and Driver to make some plays, and if Green doesn’t have a big game here he may never have one.

  2. Watched 1 of Boykin’s college games last year I really like him. I hope he gets some snaps on Sunday I’m intrigued by him think he’ll be even better next year once he has a full offseason with the Pack.

  3. Well, at least we know that the Packers would have enough players to utterly humiliate the lowly bears, right?

  4. @ tokyosandblaster
have you seen the standings lately?
packers fans should be real quiet right now because its gone be out- rageous when the Jags beat them sunday. then they will say half our team is hurt

Why would we say half YOUR team is hurt?

  6. if The bears had half of the injuries we’ve had to overcome so far this year, the bears would have a top 5 pick in the draft next year.

  7. Chi01town is praying that the packers lose tomorrow. Clearly, he’s a moron to say that the hottest team right now is going to lose, just like how they were going to lose to the Texans and rams. Don’t quit your day job, retard. You’re terrible at making predictions. I may dislike the bears, but I wouldn’t go out on a limb to say they’ll lose to the Panthers tomorrow. Why? Because its ignorant to think that, just as its ignorant to say the jags will win tomorrow. If Chicago is so much better, why can’t they beat green bay? Answer that. You havemt beat them in THREE years! Now that’s pathetic. You can’t even beat them at home.

Suh’s hit on Cutler was legal, and it’s only a matter of time before that rib cracks. Uh oh.
