During Thanksgiving week, we’ll all have something else for which to be thankful.

Two days before it’s time to carve the turkey and enjoy the three-pack of NFL games, former Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will conduct a hearing on the appeals of the latest wave of player suspensions in the bounty case.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the hearing will be held on November 20.

Of course, the hearing will proceed only if Judge Helen Berrigan finds that Tagliabue may proceed as the arbitrator. Judge Berrigan currently is considering a motion to disqualify Tagliabue.

Until then, Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilman and Saints defensive end Will Smith will be able to continue to play, effectively delaying the suspensions by at least 11 weeks of the regular season.
