For the second time this season, a survey of NFL players has named Tim Tebow the most overrated player in the league.

A couple of weeks ago, a Sports Illustrated poll of players had Tebow as the runaway winner on the “most overrated player” question. And now a Sporting News poll of players has found the same conclusion.

In the Sporting News poll of 103 players, Tebow got 36 votes, by far the most of anyone. In second place was Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who was tied for second place with Tebow’s teammate Mark Sanchez in the Sports Illustrated poll. Sanchez was tied for fifth in the Sporting News poll, so it’s clear from the two different surveys that a large plurality of NFL players view Tebow as the most overrated player in the league, with Romo and Sanchez also viewed as overrated by a significant number of their peers.

Also ranking among the Top 5 most overrated players in both polls was Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who came in third in the Sporting News poll and fourth in the Sports Illustrated poll.

Other players who were voted the most overrated by multiple players in the Sporting News poll were Bills defensive end Mario Williams, Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and, surprisingly, Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Lewis, Manning and Brady will all be first-ballot Hall of Famers, but maybe not all of their peers in the NFL think they should be.
