Jerry Jones wants Murray healthy for long haul

The Cowboys haven’t proven themselves to be consistent enough to overlook anyone, but owner Jerry Jones sounded like a man looking down the schedule past the Browns, in respect to the condition of running back DeMarco Murray.

Jones said they’d continue to evaluate Murray, who has missed four straight games with a foot sprain, but they wanted to be cautious for the stretch run.

He is a physical running back,” Jones said on his radio show KRLD-FM (via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram). “You want to be very comfortable for him to make his cut. All of that has to be right before he goes out there because we got to look down the road here.

“We hope we are in this thing and needing him on every play as we moving forward even beyond Cleveland.”

If the Cowboys have postseason aspirations, and they certainly do, getting Murray back to 100 percent will be important.

Of course, if they have legitimate playoff aspirations, they should beat the Browns with or without him.
