After a second consecutive win to move to 6-4 on the season, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll gave his team a simple message on Monday.

Get outta here.

Carroll gave his players the entire week off as Seattle finally gets their bye in Week 11 of the season. Seattle knocked off the woefully struggling New York Jets 28-7 on Sunday. The Jets didn’t score an offensive touchdown against the Seahawks and Seattle held the Jets to just 185 yards on the day.

The Seahawks could use the rest to heal up. They had their most populated injury report of the season heading into the Jets game. Carroll expects that everyone on his team will be able to return to practice next week following the break.

“What we will gain is rest, and the rehab part of it we can also get done. We got to get back to work and really hit it on Monday,” Carroll said.

The biggest problem was trying to make sure his rookie quarterback Russell Wilson actually took some time off as well. The workaholic Wilson has been known to regularly give his receivers a breakdown of the Seahawks’ next opponent before the coaching staff even has a chance to formulate a game-plan for the week. Yet, Wilson is expected to take some time off during the break, even if it is somewhat begrudgingly.

“He has some plans, we have talked about his plans, and he gets it,” Carroll said. “He’s going to take a little break and I think he’ll be gone for about three hours tomorrow.”
