Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is at the podium as we speak, offering little in the way of updates on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s shoulder injury.

Tomlin said, via multiple reports, that Roethlisberger has a “shoulder sprain,” which would make him questionable this week. Of course, a separated shoulder is, by definition, sprained, so we really don’t know any more than we did a few minutes ago.

Yahoo’s Jason Cole just mentioned that Roethlisberger is awaiting word on a second MRI, so the rush to declare the quarterback one way or another seems premature.

His shoulder hurts. He’s seeing doctors. He doesn’t seem to know where he stands yet.

So we wait for the next wave of leaks.
