Titans in search of utilizing Kenny Britt more effectively

The Tennessee Titans plan on using their bye week to find if they can use wide receiver Kenny Britt more effectively.

Britt manged just two catches for 36 yards in the Titans’ 37-3 win over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. Britt was targeted six times but only managed the two grabs and had a drop on a third down late in the first quarter.

According to John Glennon of the Tennessean, Titans head coach Mike Munchak wants to see if there are ways to find more production from Britt.

“With him out there we’re a better football team and we just have to keep finding ways to use him,” Munchak said.

Britt is coming back from a season-ending knee injury in 2011 that required three surgeries and an ankle injury that has limited throughout the season. Britt remains the Titans’ most dynamic threat but has managed just 27 catches for 312 yards and one touchdowns in eight games this season.

“He wants to do more and more and more. So I think it’s something we’ll look at to see if we’re using him the best way he possibly can,” Munchak said.

  1. Still haven’t figured out the motivations for Chris Palmer’s personnel groupings. Thought in Britt’s case maybe they were just dealing with the post-ACL/ankle stuff and reducing his snaps. In Jared Cook’s case…who knows? No offense to Damien Williams but I hate seeing him take snaps from Britt and Cook. Especially down in the redzone. Can Palmer really not figure out ways to get those two guys on the field at the same time more often? The worst is when they’re both on the sidelines, which isn’t a surprise to see anymore (unfortunately).
