Steelers fans have enough to worry about with the health of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, so they will be happy to know that they can strike any worries about the quarterback missing a game for the birth of his first child.

Roethlisberger’s wife Ashley gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday night. Roethlisberger said that he would miss a game for the birth of his son, who the couple named Benjamin Roethlisberger Jr. Given the lack of a timetable for Roethlisberger’s return, there wasn’t much of a chance that he was going to miss a game he would be medically cleared to play but it’s now totally off the table.

The quarterback announced the news on his website Thursday.

“Ashley and I welcomed a healthy, beautiful baby boy into this world. Benjamin Jr. is 7 lbs., 1 oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing well. We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot to us. God is so good! We will have pictures to post this weekend. We hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving” -- Ben, Ashley and Benjamin.”

Congratulations to the whole Roethlisberger clan.
