The Eagles have shuffled their roster a bit ahead of Monday’s game against the Panthers.

The team announced Friday afternoon that they have claimed wide receiver Greg Salas off of waivers from the Patriots. Salas was waived by New England before Thursday night’s win over the Jets when they added offensive lineman Marcus Zusevics to help the team weather injuries to guard Logan Mankins and tackle Sebastian Vollmer.

Philly waived wide receiver Mardy Gilyard to make room for Salas on the roster. Jason Avant has been fighting a hamstring injury of late, cutting into the Eagles’ depth at receiver.

Salas went to New England in a trade for a seventh-round pick just before the start of the season, but he couldn’t win a regular role in the lineup. He played one game and spent time on the practice squad before getting his walking papers. Salas was a fourth-round pick of the Rams in 2011, but played just six games for them in his rookie season.
