Percy Harvin makes short appearance at Vikings practice

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has said a few times that he wants wide receiver Percy Harvin at practice before he returns to game action following an ankle injury.

Frazier didn’t specify how much Harvin needed to practice to satisfy that desire, so it remains to be seen if Harvin’s short stay at Friday’s session is enough to clear him for Sunday’s game against the Bears. Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Harvin was on the field during the team’s stretching exercises and then left with members of the training staff.

Harvin didn’t return to practice during the portion of the session open to the media, so we’ll have to wait until the Vikings release their injury report on Friday afternoon to get a better sense of his chances of playing. Craig does report that Harvin was moving slowly and walking with a limp when he was at practice with the rest of the team.

Harvin missed the Week Ten date against the Lions and was expected to return after using the bye week to focus on healing. He hasn’t practiced in full at all this week, though, and that doesn’t make for an optimistic outlook for Sunday.
