Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael may be a candidate for the head-coaching vacancy at his alma mater, Boston College.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Carmichael is on the radar at Boston College, which fired coach Frank Spaziani on Sunday, at the end of a 2-10 season.

Carmichael grew up in New England and was the MVP of Boston College’s baseball team during his college years, and his parents, siblings and in-laws all still live in the Boston area. So the opportunity to go back home to Boston College, where his father was once a football assistant, could be a lure.

Carmichael has been with the Saints since 2006. He has previously served on the staffs of the Chargers, Redskins and Browns, and at Louisiana Tech and the University of New Hampshire.
