Raiders game will be blacked out

It’s been a while since the Raiders have had one of their games blacked out on local television, but the streak will end this Sunday.

The team couldn’t sell 85 percent of their non-premium tickets to the game against the Browns, which means that their run of 13 games without a blackout will come screeching to a halt. There are a few reasons why the Raiders might have had a tough time selling tickets to this one.

There’s the 3-8 record of the home team that has been beaten by a combined score of 127-47 in their last three games. There’s also the 3-8 record of the visitors from Cleveland. And there’s also a prediction of huge amounts of rain in Oakland on Sunday, something that makes watching two teams with those records seem even less appealing.

The Raiders have two more home games this season. They play next Thursday night against the Broncos and against the Chiefs in Week 15. We’ll see if Peyton Manning is enough to get people back out to the stadium.
