Eight days ago, the Jets dressed but didn’t play Tim Tebow, who has two broken ribs. By also deactivating Greg McElroy, the Jets would have been in trouble if, for example, starter Mark Sanchez had broken his face when it slammed into Brandon Moore’s butt.
This week, the Jets will play it safer, and smarter. ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Jets plan to make Tebow inactive for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals, so that his ribs can further heal.
It’s unknown whether Tebow will be active when he returns to his hometown of Jacksonville for a Week 14 game that already has prompted the Jags to raise the tarps in order to sell more tickets.
