Chiefs wrestling with how to acknowledge Belcher at game

Chiefs captains on Saturday made the difficult decision to play as scheduled, one day after linebacker Jovan Belcher killed the mother of his child and then killed himself in the presence of team officials.

The organization has another, arguably more delicate, decision to make: How should Belcher be remembered?

Randy Moss of NFL Network reports from Kansas City that there will be no helmet decal or uniform patch, given the circumstances of Belcher’s death and the events preceding it.

Per Moss, there may be a moment of silence, but it would be for victims of family violence generally, not for Belcher specifically.

The Chiefs host the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. ET.
