The Bills are still waiting on Mark Anderson to return from a knee injury, but they decided to place another one of their defensive ends on injured reserve Wednesday.

Chris Kelsay’s year is over as a result of a torn ligament in his neck. He’s missed three of the last four games and had to leave the one game he did play, against the Colts in Week 12, early because of the injury.

After years as a starter in Buffalo, Kelsay moved into a different role with the arrival of Anderson and Mario Williams. He wound up starting four games and finishes the year with 14 tackles and two sacks. He’s got two years left on a five-year, $28.2 million contract, but he’s unlikely to see them at salaries north of $3.7 million now that he’s playing a reserve role.

The Bills also announced that they have promoted cornerback T.J. Heath and guard Keith Williams from the practice squad. The team’s dealing with injuries to Aaron Williams and Leodis McKelvin at corner while the offensive line has suffered one injury after another this year.
