Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett apologized to safety Kerry Rhodes for an argument during last week’s loss to the Jets, but it doesn’t seem as if the team is willing to forgive and forget.

Mike Jurecki of XTRA 910 reports that he’s been told that the Cardinals will fine Dockett six figures for the altercation. Dockett allegedly spit at Rhodes as they argued about the team’s plan to let the Jets score near the end of the 7-6 loss.

That should not be confused by the spit takes done by people watching Jets games when the Jets actually score. As far as we know, that is not a fineable offense.

Rhodes denied that Dockett spit and Dockett didn’t address it when he acknowledged the incident earlier this week, but the size of that fine certainly suggests that something untoward happened on the field in New Jersey.

Jurecki also reports that Dockett could have a limited role against the Seahawks this weekend. That’s a lot of fallout from a little spittle, something that might make other Cardinals think twice before hocking a loogie in the direction of one of their teammates should another disagreement come to the surface in Sunday’s game.
