Seahawks pitch a shutout, beat Cards 58-0

Arizona Cardinals v Seattle Seahawks

Both teams changed quarterbacks, for different reasons.

The Seahawks pulled starter Russell Wilson with 10:19 left in the third quarter, giving Matt Flynn his first snaps with the team. Of course, the fact they were up 45-0 en route to a 58-0 win over the Cardinals had something to do with it.

The Cards pulling John Skelton (five turnovers, 18.2 rating) was more traditional, as they rolled Ryan Lindley back out there while trying to euthanize the clock.

All told, the Cards turned the ball over eight times to lose their ninth straight game, probably the worst of the Ken Whisenhunt era. (I didn’t look that up, it just seems reasonable.)

Wilson only had to throw for 148 yards, while Marshawn Lynch finished with 128 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.

The Cardinals are in a terrible skid, and it all goes back to one point — they don’t have a quarterback. If Peyton Manning had picked them, so many of the parts that look so dysfunctional would look so much better.
