Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Dez Bryant would make the ultimate decision about whether or not the wide receiver continues playing with the finger injury he suffered against the Bengals.
If that’s true, Bryant’s going to be in the lineup. He told Mike Fisher of Scout.com that the injury isn’t enough to keep him off the field.
“It would take more than this to take me out,’' Bryant said. “No way. They’d have to break my leg to keep me out.”
If it just comes down to Bryant’s will, it sounds like he’ll be on the field. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s playing.
Fisher reports that Bryant is headed for another appointment with doctors after the memorial service for Jerry Brown on Tuesday and that Bryant is trying to “find a way” to keep playing with an injury that the Cowboys originally thought meant the end of Bryant’s season. The results of that appointment will likely shed more light on whether or not the Cowboys will have Bryant in the lineup again this season.
