The Green Bay Packers will have to do without Charles Woodson for another week.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that team physician Patrick McKenzie didn’t feel it was in Woodson’s best interests to return to the field this week for the Packers trip to Chicago to play the Bears. Woodson has missed the last six games with a broken collarbone suffered against St. Louis in October.

Very frustrating day,” McCarthy said after practice via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “Charles was ready to play, he’s ready to go. Based on the information over the last two days, we’re going to hold him out of the game.”

Woodson practiced in a limited fashion last week but still has not been cleared for contact.

“This is in the best interest of Charles,” McCarthy said. “I know it’s disappointing, frustrating for him. He’s continuing to rehab; that’s basically where he was all day today.”

Woodson will have two more games against the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings to get back on the field before the playoffs.
