As winners of seven of their last eight games, the Green Bay Packers are among the hottest teams in the NFL.
They aren’t to blame, however, for setting their historic stadium on fire.
According to WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Lambeau Field suffered $5,000 in damage when construction work on the stadium ignited a fire. Workers were cutting a metal beam when sparks ignited insulation inside a wall.
Lieutenant Nick Craig of the Green Bay Fire Department told the station it was a small fire but in a difficult place to get to.
More than 30 firefighters responded to the fire and were at the stadium for close to an hour to get the situation handled. The stadium is not needed this week for the Packers as Green Bay travels to face the Chicago Bears before returning home next week for their final regular season home game against the Tennessee Titans.
