The Cowboys problems in the middle of their defensive line aren’t getting better any time soon.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, nose tackle Jay Ratliff had surgery this morning in Philadelphia to repair a sports hernia. The procedure will keep him off the field from three weeks to six weeks.

It’s unclear at the moment if he’ll go on injured reserve, or whether they’ll hang onto him for a potential playoff run.

UPDATE 3:18 p.m.: Nick Eatman of the team’s official website says Ratliff’s season is over, and he’ll go on IR.
