With the arrival of Nike as the official apparel provider for the NFL, the Seahawks were the first team to get an extreme makeover.
Through 14 weeks, however, the Seahawks have been holding in their back pockets an alternative ensemble. Dubbed “Wolf Grey,” it’s a gray-on-gray outfit that will makes its debut not in Seattle but Toronto.
And that’s the strangest aspect of this. Typically, the alternative uniform makes its appearance before the home crowd, so that the locals will cough up the shekels for the third jersey.
Still, the move will give the players a little kick as they hit the road for the last time in the regular season. And if they can beat the Bills in Toronto and if the 49ers lose in New England, the only thing standing in the way of Seattle winning the NFC West crown will be a pair of home games against the 49ers and Rams.
