Report: Jason Garrett’s job safe in Dallas

While there are coaches with two games left in their current jobs, Jason Garrett appears to be safe in Dallas.

That’s the call from FOX’s Jay Glazer, who just reported that Garrett can be taken off the list of hot-seat coaches.

Glazer said the Cowboys have been as impressed with Garrett’s handling of the recent death of practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown as their on-field play (three straight wins and five of the last six).

As long as he works for Jerry Jones, there’s a ceiling on how long-term any of that can truly be, but the signs are in his favor now.

  1. I feel bad for Cowboy fans. They tease them during this streak, but will probably still miss the playoffs and thus bring back the same coach who defines mediocrity. In some ways it’d be best just to get blown out these last two weeks so Garrett is a goner.

  2. So can we please put to rest these ridiculous Sean Payton to Dallas rumors? He wouldn’t go to a franchise that has wallowed in futility for nearly the last two decades thanks to the general dictator/manager.

  3. Report: Sports journalists usually pawn off their own opinions as fact. There is no more reporting of actual facts–only an endless supply of speculation in the hopes that some of it may actually happen.
