Unless they pull off a huge upset on Sunday at Denver, the Kansas City Chiefs will earn the first overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

The Chiefs and Jaguars are tied for the worst record in the NFL at 2-13, and they are guaranteed to have the two worst records in the NFL at the end of the season because every other team has at least four wins. The Chiefs own the strength of schedule tiebreaker over the Jaguars, which means that the only way the Jaguars could get the first overall pick is by losing to the Titans on Sunday while the Chiefs stun the Broncos.

The 4-11 Raiders, Eagles and Lions have the inside track for the rest of the top five picks, with the 5-10 Bills, Titans, Browns and Cardinals up next.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs and Jaguars, this does not look like a great year to own the Top 2 picks in the draft. Last year, the presence of Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III made the top two picks very valuable commodities. This year, there’s no such sure-thing franchise quarterback. Which makes it a bad year to be a bad team.
