The Jets beat the Bills 48-28 on the opening weekend of the season behind one of Mark Sanchez’s best performances of the season, but that doesn’t mean Buffalo is upset to see Sanchez back in the starting lineup for this week’s game.
According to linebacker Bryan Scott, it’s a decision that will make for an easier day for the Bills defense than facing either Greg McElroy or Tim Tebow.
“It makes it a little easier because there’s a lot more film on Mark Sanchez than there is on McElroy. I don’t think they’re going to change too much offensively than they would have with Tebow. We’re still going to prepare for Tebow in case we see him some with the option type stuff,” Scott said, via the team’s website. “We’ve played against Sanchez multiple time so we’re all a bit more knowledgeable about his game and what he’ll likely do out there in certain situations.”
The lack of film on McElroy didn’t seem to cause the Chargers any trouble last week, but we get where Scott is coming from. The Bills, like every other team in the NFL, has seen enough of Sanchez over the last four years to enter a game against him with plenty of confidence. Problem is, the other 31 NFL teams, including the Jets, feel the same way about their offense facing the Bills defense.
