The Arizona Cardinals have placed tight end Rob Housler on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury against the Chicago Bears last week.

Housler was the Cardinals third leading receiver this season. Housler appeared in all 15 games this season and made nine starts for Arizona. Housler caught 45 passes for 417 yards for the Cardinals this season.

The team activated wide receiver Kerry Taylor from the practice squad to take Housler’s spot on the roster. Taylor has spent most of the season on the Cardinals’ practice squad after being released by the New England Patriots practice squad in September. Taylor played his college ball at Arizona State University.

Arizona then signed defensive end Everette Thompson to fill Taylor’s spot on the practice squad.
