Bengals finagle final-game sellout

Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals, whose fans became fickle even as the team powered its way to a franchise-first back-to-back playoff appearances in non-strike seasons, have managed to fill up Paul Brown Stadium for the last home game of 2012.

The Bengals have announced that Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Ravens has been sold out, and that it will be televised locally.

Since the Bengals are locked in as the No. 6 seed in the AFC playoff field, there’s no way they can improve their standing. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton said on Thursday’s Pro Football Talk that, as far as he knows, the team will keep the starters in and pursue a victory in an otherwise meaningless game.
