The Titans and Jaguars weren’t playing for much of value in Week 17, but anyone who decided to tune in saw one of the odder stretches of play in memory.

Tennessee scored four touchdowns in a five-minute stretch of the second and third quarters without running a single offensive play. One of the players responsible for that improbable spurt was honored as the AFC special teams player of the week.

Darius Reynaud took a punt back 69 yards for a score late in the first half and he took another one 81 yards after the Jags were stopped on the opening possession of the second half. Linebacker Zach Brown had interception returns for scores on either side of Reynaud’s two touchdowns in what wound up as an 38-20 Titans victory.

It’s the second time Reynaud was honored with the weekly special teams prize this season. He also took home the honors after he returned a kick 105 yards for a touchdown in Week Three. He finished the year averaging 23.4 yards per kickoff return and 13.2 yards per punt return, which was good for fourth-best in the NFL.
