Among the ever-increasing names of candidates scheduled to interview for the head coaching job of the Chicago Bears is a very prominent name from their franchise’s history books.

According to Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are expected to interview Bears Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary.

Per the report, the decision to interview Singletary could have come at the suggestion of ownership. Singletary is currently serving as linebackers coach and special assistant to head coach Leslie Frasier. Singletary previously compiled an 18-22 record over parts of three seasons as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

Per Pompei, the Bears are also scheduled to interview Vikings special teams coach Mike Priefer.

Singlerary and Priefer join Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, Houston offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, Green Bay offensive coordinator Tom Clements, Indianapolis offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, New Orleans offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr., Dallas special teams coach Joe DeCamillis and Montreal Allouettes head coach Marc Trestman among the list of interviewees for the Bears.
