Dolphins exec Brian Gaine to interview with Jets

gaine_in

There were reports over the weekend that the Jets had settled on a top candidate to be their next general manager, but they are still adding names to the list of interviews this week.

Multiple reports indicate that the team will interview Dolphins Assistant General Manager Brian Gaine for the vacancy created when the Jets fired Mike Tannenbaum last week. Gaine moved to the Dolphins along with several other former Cowboys employees that joined the team when Bill Parcells took over football operations in 2008.

Gaine has previous experience with the Jets, working in their scouting department when Parcells was with the Jets before he moved on to Dallas in 2005.

49ers exec Tom Gamble and Jets Assistant General Manager Scott Cohen are also in the mix for the job and there have been reports of interest in Colts vice president of football operations Tom Telesco as well, although Telesco is considered one of the favorites for the vacancy in San Diego. The Chargers are expected to announce their choice on Wednesday.

UPDATE 2:05 p.m. ET: Telesco has been hired in San Diego, so you can strike him from the list.
