Flacco, Smith even things up

The Ravens took a haymaker early, but they’ve answered with one of their own.

After a 90-yard punt return from Trindon Holliday put the Ravens in a hole and a mishandled kickoff return from Jacoby Jones put the Ravens in a bind and a misfired throw from Joe Flacco to Tandon Doss forced them to punt again to Holliday, the tide turned with the tossing of a yellow flag.

Pass interference on Denver moved the ball from the Baltimore eight to the 33. Two plays later, Flacco heaved a bomb and Torrey Smith ran past cornerback Champ Bailey, caught the ball, and cashed in on a 59-yard score.

Smith’s ability to hit full speed should be encouraging to Ravens fans, given that he showed up on the injury report Thursday with a back injury.
