Don’t wait for Flacco to liven up Super Bowl week

The Ravens are arriving in New Orleans later this afternoon, with enough characters to liven up the town for a week.

None of those characters are quarterback Joe Flacco.

In fact, the Ravens quarterback can’t even seem to entertain his own family.

Flacco’s father Steve told Scott Cacciola of the New York Times that his son was not the kind who will make headlines this week.

Joe is dull,” Steve Flacco said. “As dull as he is portrayed in the media, he’s that dull. He is dull.”

Gee, thanks Dad.

While Super Bowl lore is full of quarterback antics, we’re apparently getting none of those from the Ravens this week. Which is fine for him, since he’s on pace for a different kind of history.

Maybe Colin Kaepernick will moon a helicopter or something.

  1. His demeanor is what everyone hates especially those deer in the headlights look but those days appear to be gone. He’s poised and any Ravens fan who watches RaveTV videos see’s that behind the scenes he’s a fiesty dude.

  2. Can’t report on him for saying something so we’ll report on him for saying nothing. I think in dad’s own way he was trying to help the calm, cool, collected image.

  3. If he keeps playing like he is I don’t care if he never speaks again.

In as many weeks he’s outgunned the defending Super Bowl QB, the future of conventional Quarterbacking in Luck, the Future first ballot Haller in Peyton, and an other in Brady.

    Nuff said?

  4. No one livens up SB week in New Orleans like Jim McMahon did…Mooning the helicopter wasn’t even the most outrageous thing he did.
