We’re drawing ever closer to kickoff, but there’s still time to fill before Super Bowl XLVII finally kicks off.

We’ll fill some of it by welcoming three NFC South stars to the Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports Network set in New Orleans. Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and Falcons wide receiver Roddy White will all be on hand to talk to the gang. We’ll ask them about their 2012 seasons, their plans for the offseason and what their teams need to do in order to spend next Super Bowl week preparing for a game instead of talking to us.

Erik Kuselias, Mike Florio, Hines Ward and Peter King will have the usual roundup of all the news from the Super Bowl and elsewhere in the league. They’ll also take a look at Saturday’s Hall of Fame vote and reveal whether they think the Ravens or 49ers will reign victorious when the final whistle sounds on this season.

It’s a great way to end what’s been a great week and it all gets started at 5 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

  1. Just to avoid confusion on recent articles here.

Matt Birk wants NFL players to donate their brains for medical research..

Cam Newton gave his “two cents worth” to the reporters on radio row.

Seperate events. Newton did not donate his brain.

  2. Cam’s answer to Kuselias’ question about which achievement meant most to him out of winning the Heisman, wining a national championship, ROTY or being the first overall pick was telling, and disappointing. Cam said winning the Heisman. Any QB who doesn’t say “championship”, and I mean without having even to think about it, is not a guy I’d want as my QB.

As a side note, I always enjoy Kuselias’ interviews. He asks some really interesting questions and he has a nice conversational style.
