Brees sees 2013 as a new era for the Saints

350x-1

After a 2012 season turned upside down by the bounty scandal, Saints coach Sean Payton is back and Saints quarterback Drew Brees sees the 2013 season as a “new era” for the franchise.

Brees explained his views in that regard during a Friday appearance on Pro Football Talk.

“We have as much to prove to each other as we do to anybody else,” Brees said. “How do we get back to feeling like we felt before when we were winning games and winning championships?”

Could that new start include receiver Randy Moss, who reportedly wants to play next season and who said this week that he’s not happy with his role in San Francisco? Brees initially laughed about the possibility, suggested that “you never know how things shake out,” and then pointed out that when Moss worked out for the Saints during his 2011 retirement, Brees said the coaches told him that Moss “can still run.”
