So there’s no surprise that as reports mount about concerns about the logistics of an outdoor Super Bowl halftime show in MetLife Stadium next year, the league played it cool.
Brian McCarthy, the league’s vice president of communications, just tweeted out word that all is well, and that there’s nothing to see here.
“re: erroneous reports #SB48 halftime show next year. Chill out. pregame & halftime shows in-stadium.”

The nature of having the game in New York will create a special hysteria about every aspect of the game, but the league mobilizes a small army of people working on issues big and small.
Hosting Bon Jovi or whoever it happens for a 15-minute concert in the inevitable blizzard might be complicated, but it’s not like having 70,000 people trapped in a building with no electricity or anything.
