Jim Harbaugh enjoys a relaxing round of golf

With 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh swinging golf clubs this weekend, there isn’t much time for football news.

But there were, in fact, two bits of news.

The first is that the high-strung Harbaugh “seemed uncommonly relaxed” during his five-and-half-hour round at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, according to Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle.

If you’d have asked me what kind of golfer Harbaugh might be, I’d have guessed a good one, as he’s a natural athlete. He and professional partner Jason Day were tied for third after one round, 9-under par.

But I’d also figure him to be a club-tosser, but he was apparently loose (or caddy/defensive coordinator Vic Fangio did a good job of collecting them).

According to the report, he “amiably chatted with spectators” during his round, and joked: “No, I’m not good enough to get upset about it.”

But the biggest news might have been the fact he was wearing a red sweater with a striped golf shirt underneath.

Yes, Jim Harbaugh owns clothing other than black team-issued sweatshirts, clothing he may have, in fact, purchased.
