While both teams downplayed the possibility this week, the Chiefs and Eagles have apparently talked about a trade for quarterback Nick Foles.
According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, there was no real progress toward a deal, but it was made clear to the Chiefs that the Eagles still want to take a look at Foles.
The talks apparently happened a few hours after Reid stood on a podium and said “He’s not available,” in reference to Foles.
Expect the Eagles to revisit the topic as the months go on, as they know they can’t keep Matt Cassel at $7.5 million (or at any price), and Foles is more of a known commodity to Reid than anyone else available.
