Bidding war expected between Colts, Browns for Kruger

Kruger

As the legal non-tampering tampering period continues to unfold, the negotiations-without-offers process has yielded an intriguing prediction as to what will happen once Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET arrives.

The Browns and Colts are expected to launch a bidding war for Ravens linebacker Paul Kruger, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

Cleveland resides in the same division as the Ravens, which would provide the Browns an extra kick by taking Kruger from the defending league champs. And former Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano coaches the Colts.

Throw in the fact that each team has plenty of cap space, and it makes sense for a tug-o-war to emerge.

Our guess for now (and it’s only a guess) is that the Colts will win -- but only after the Browns force them to a pay a lot more than they want to pay.

Either way, it’s safe to say Kruger won’t be back in Baltimore in 2013.
