One of the more intriguing prospects on the free-agent cornerback market was Greg Toler.
A starter in 2010 who missed 2011 with a torn ACL and who appeared in only 11 games with two starts in 2012, Toler has a reputation for being a hard-nosed tackler and a competent coverage man.
But after three full days to explore a market deep in defensive backs, Toler decided to stay put in Arizona.
According to Tim Ring of KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Toler has agreed to a three-year deal to remain with the Cardinals.
The move suggests that Toler did his homework regarding the other opportunities on the open market, and decided to stay put.
The Cardinals currently have only four cornerbacks under contract: Toler, Patrick Peterson, Jamell Fleming, and Michael Adams.
UPDATE 11:30 p.m. ET: And, of course, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that there is no deal, and that Toler will hit the open market on Tuesday.
UPDATE 6:52 a.m. ET 3/12/13: Ring has since tweeted that there is no deal, and that he meant to refer to Rashad Johnson, not Greg Toler.
